Liz with Cesar Milan

Hello, I’m Liz, the Texas Pet Nanny. I have been pet sitting for cats, dogs, and other pets in Houston, Texas since 1997.

In 2009, I followed my passion, my love of animals, and volunteered to assist Susie Jean, President of VEST ‘N P.D.P. Police Dog Protection. The entire purpose of VEST ‘N P.D.P. is to raise funds for bullet-resistant and knife-resistant Kevlar vests for K-9 units across the country. I read an article about the non-profit organization and was struck by Susie’s statement, “A dog goes out with no fear and does what he’s been trained to do without thought for personal danger.”  “My efforts are a small price to pay for our police dogs that protect their human partners as well as our communities.” Those words touched me so much that I was determined to do whatever I could to help save more police dogs. I work closely with Susie to aid the dogs that help keep their human partners, and all of us, safe.

This year VEST ‘N P.D.P.  partnered with Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle, of NASCAR fame.  Biffle and Stewart awarded a sizable grant to VEST ‘N P.D.P. providing 40 Kevlar vests for 30 dogs of the Indiana State Police K-9 Unit and 10 additional dogs from Georgia, New Mexico, North Carolina and Minnesota.

These custom-made vests cost $695.00 each, and because there are so many police dogs needing protection there is a long waiting list. Please help us protect our brave officers and their canine companions with a tax-deductible 501 (c3) donation.  Make the check payable to VEST ‘N P.D.P. INC. and I’ll come by and pick it up today! Please give me a call at: 713-628-5619.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank my first private donors, Kenneth and Nancy Spitler. Their generous donation will enable one more K-9 dog to be protected in the line of duty.
